SPECIAL NOTE TO AUTHORS NOT LIVING IN THE UNITED STATES

At APEC 2003, there were a few authors who were not able to present their papers because they were not able to get a visa for entry into the United States in time. The APEC Conference Committee has discussed how it can assist authors not living in the United States. After consulting with the Conference Management team, the only thing the conference can do is issue letters of invitation to the presenting author with the notification that a paper has been accepted.

APEC 2005 encourages prospective authors not living in the United States to investigate as soon as possible the process and time needed to obtain a visa for entry into the United States. The presenting authors are responsible for assuring that they will have the needed travel documents in time for the conference. Please keep in mind that all APEC can do to assist you is send a letter of invitation. Visas are issued by the United States government and APEC has no control or influence with the Unites States immigration authorities.

See Information For International Travelers for more information on visas and visa requirements.

MORE ABOUT APEC PAPERS AND AUTHORSHIP

Authors whose papers are accepted are required to:

  • Prepare a manuscript according to IEEE and APEC guidelines for publication in the APEC Proceedings
  • Present the paper at APEC and
  • Register for the conference at the appropriate rate. Only one registration is required per presenting author regardless of the number of papers accepted.

Manuscripts not received by the deadline above may not be published in the Proceedings. Papers not in the APEC Proceedings will not be presented at the conference.

Manuscripts exceeding seven pages will be required to pay a Page Charge for each page over seven. These charges must be paid when the manuscript is submitted for publication. Failure to pay the page charges will result in your paper being withdrawn from the APEC Proceedings and it will not be presented at the conference.

AUTHOR'S KIT

The Author's Kit, with instructions on how to prepare your manuscript for publication in the Conference Proceedings, presentation at the conference, copyright release form and other related information will be posted here when the notifications are mailed in October.

PRESENTING YOUR PAPER AT APEC 2005

APEC 2005 is encouraging all authors to present their papers using computer projection.
